Our Kickoff series is all about Community. September 3, 10, and 17 worships will each focus on different aspects of what being community is about. Join us for the Kick-Off Sunday on September 10, 2023. During that week’s worship, we will highlight what we have coming over the next year for all ages. Let’s build community as we gather together and kick off the year!
Opportunities to be Community
If you could not be with us at Kick-off Sunday, we would still like to know what you would be interested in. Please use the survey form below and let us know any and all that you would like more information about.
Our modern worship leader, Aaron Miller, is heading up a Lectio Divina group over the summer. Lectio Divina is an intentional Scripture study method that involves reading, reflection, and prayer. This is a great opportunity to reflect and grow together.
This is a ZOOM group that meets Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8, and is open to all. Contact the church for more information!
On Tuesday, September 13, we invite the congregations from River Road Church Baptist, Third Church, and St. Matthew Episcopal to join us at Trinity United Methodist for the start of our second season of Community Conversations.
Community Conversations is simply a conversation/interview with an invited guest from the Richmond community. The first forty five minutes features scripted questions, and the last fifteen minutes is reserved for questions from the audience.
For September 13 our guests will be the senior pastors from each church: Daniel Glaze from River Road Church Baptist, Corey Widmer from Third Church, Brian Siegle from Trinity United Methodist, and Steve Schlossberg from St. Matthews. We look forward to learning a bit about each pastor, their congregations, and how each church is positioned in our community.
Program starts at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary at Trinity, and concludes at 8 p.m. The program is live and also broadcast virtually. Immediately following this first program, you are invited to attend an ice cream social in the Welcome Center.
We hope you will join us for an opportunity to learn and enjoy some fellowship.
If you are looking to be a part of our community, come journey with Rev. Hung Su. Meetings are Sunday mornings in August, at 10am, in the library (on the third floor).
The 2022 Dillard Forum is excited to bring Dr. Norbert Wilson to Trinity November 6-7. This Forum will focus on food issues in our country and will address equity in access to food, food waste, and the ramifications of our choices in what we eat. Dr. Wilson is the Professor of Food, Economics, and Community at Duke Divinity School and is an ordained vocational deacon in the Episcopal Church USA. With several degrees in agricultural economics, he has spent his career involved in food policy with the underlying premise that food is a basic human right. Mark your calendars now for this important event!
