Spring Fest

Spring Fest

On Sunday, April 14 from 3-5 PM, Trinity will hold our Spring Fest event.

It’s been a long winter and we are excited about SPRING. To celebrate the start of a new season and to gather together for a day of celebration, we are excited to offer Spring Fest on April 14.

Spring Fest is designed with families in mind, but is open to anyone who wants to come and enjoy food, fun, and fellowship!

Pub Theology

Pub Theology

Pub Theology meets monthly, generously hosted at Waygone Brewery, at 10610 Patterson Ave, Stuite 12. We meet in the brewery’s community room to the right just inside the main entrance. Come for the fellowship and conversation about a topic of interest.

Our start time will be 6 PM. Trinity will provide pizza, and we request that each person contribute $5.00 to help offset the cost. Sampling the brewery’s offerings in on your own.

A Trinity staff member or a volunteer from the congregation will present a topic for discussion each month. Our projected dates are February 20, March 12, April 16, May 14, and June 18. We hope you will consider joining us.

Conserve and Create

Conserve and Create

The Friends of Bellemeade Park will be hosting a Conserve and Create workday in Bellemeade Park.  We will be targeting the removal of invasive plants, other gardening activities, riparian/stream side restoration, pruning, mulching, and general cleanup near the Bellemeade Community Center (adjacent to Oak Grove/Bellemeade Elementary School).

Message from Bob:

“Please come and join us and meet your neighbors!!!”

Be advised that there is poison ivy in the woods where invasive plants will be removed.  Long sleeves are recommended and proper handling of the clothes you wear is important so the oil doesn’t touch someone’s skin.  While we’re not trying to get rid of poison ivy (the berries are nutritious for some birds), it’s growing among the invasive Japanese honeysuckle & English ivy.

Ticks may be out — use repellent and check yourself thoroughly when you get home.

Please bring:
Refillable water bottle (full)
Work gloves
Clothing appropriate for this activity (layers are recommended so you can add/remove layers to maintain comfort)
Snack
Mask

Note on COVID 19:
Planning for this event will have to remain flexible to ensure compliance with current COVID-19 restrictions.

Honduras Team

Honduras Team

The Trinity Honduras team is currently finalizing the missioner roster and is seeking to recruit additional non-medical team members for our Friends of Barnabas mission January 23 – 29 2023.

The main requirement is an ability to do some light hiking, work diligently in the fresh air (think June in Richmond), and be willing to share your heart and energy with some of the poorest in our hemisphere. While we have translators, knowing Spanish is a plus to enrich your interactions with staff and villagers. A $1965 fee covers all logistics, flights, food & lodging, and also temporary support staff such as translators.

If you cannot go but would like to support the mission, we have a need to fund scholarships for young people from time to time.  Trinity and Trinity foundation also support our mission so you can give to those sources as well.

Please contact Joseph Thompson at uberrock@gmail.com or 804.307.1303 to set up an interview and further detailed discussion of the program and how you can best share your talents!

Pastor’s Bible Study

Pastor’s Bible Study

The Pastor’s Wednesday afternoon study will resume on January 10 at 1:30 PM with “The Gospel of Mark”.

Long ago the church decided that mark offers meaningful insights to those who want to follow Jesus. This Gospel presents a particular perspective on what God is doing int he world through Jesus of Nazareth and tells us how people ought to respond to what God is doing if they desire to be faithful.

Mark presents these insights through its narrative. The Gospel writer did not set out to write something akin to a modern historical account of the life of Jesus. Nor did the writer compose a theology book. Instead the writer tells a story. Mark’s Gospel is a good story for us, if we allow it to be.
